Tignish

An important village situated in townships Nos. 1 and 2, north parish, county of Prince. The court of small debts holds it sittings here. This is the most important fishing station on the Island. Distant from Alberton, a station of the New York, Newfoundland, and London Telegraph Co., 12 miles, from Summerside 55 miles, fare by weekly stage 12s. Mail Bi-weekly. Population about 150.
