Know all men by these presents that I Susan Rennie of High Gate House Hawkhurst Kent England Widow of and devisee named in the last Will and Testament of David Stewart Rennie Esquire late of Newfoundland and deceased in pursuance of a contract and agreement made by me with Joseph Pope the Commissioner of Public lands in Prince Edward Island under the authority of an Act passed in the sixteenth year of the Reign of Her present Majesty Queen Victoria entitled An Act for the purchase of lands on behalf of the Government of Prince Edward Island and to regulate the sale and management thereof and for other purposes therein mentioned and of an

Act passed in the thirty ninth year of the Reign of Her Majesty Queen Victoria entitled An Act to facilitate the purchase of estates of Proprietors under the land Purchase Act 1875 and in consideration of the sum of eleven thousand dollars, $11,000, paid to me by GeorgeWashe DeBlois Treasurer of the said Island on behalf of the Government thereof the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge, the said sum of eleven thousand dollars being the sum awarded by the Commissioner Appointed under the provisions of the Land Purchase Act 1875 as the compensation or price to which I the said Susan Rennie was entitled for my estate and lands herein after described Do by these presents grant bargain and sell unto the said Joseph Pope the Commissioner of Public Lands as aforesaid All those several pieces parcels or tracts of land marked and distinguished by being colored pink on the Dark<<?>> plan thereof hereunto annexed and which said several tracts pieces or parcels of land are bounded and described as follows that is to say commencing at the South West angle of lot or Township Number Twenty three 23, in said Island thence according to the Magnetic North of the year 1764. premises or any part thereof To have and To hold the said lands hereditaments and premises hereby granted and released or intended so to be with their and every of their rights members and appurtenances unto the said Joseph Pope is such The Commissioner of Public Lands and his successors in office In trust for such purposes and subject to such forms<<??>> provisions regulations and authorities in every respect and to be managed and disposed of in such modes as are set forth disclosed and contained in the said recited Act of the 16th Victoria Cap 18 entitled An Act for the purchase of Lands on behalf of the Government of Prince Edward Island and to regulate the sale and management thereof and for in her purposes therein mentioned of and concerning lands purchased thereunder by and conveyed to The Commissioner of Paths Lands therein mentioned Subject Nevertheless to all taxes assessments and when for the trustees<<?>> now imposed or hereafter to be imposed on the said premises mentioned to be hereby granted or any part or parcel thereof and subject further to all Leases or requirements for leases granted by one & the said Susan Rennie or those through whom I claim title And I the said Susan Rennie for myself my heirs executors and administrators do hereby covenant promise and agree to and with the said Joseph Pope The Commissioner of Public Lands as aforesaid his successors in office and assigns by these presents in manner following that is to say that I the said Susan Rennie not withstanding any act deed matter or thing made committed or executed by me the said Susan Rennie and at the time of the sealing and delivery of these presents lawfully rightfully and absolutely seized of and in or well and sufficiently entitled unto the said lands hereditaments and premises hereby granted and released or intended so to be with the appurtenances to the same belonging of or for a good sure perfect lawful absolute and indefeasible estate of inheritance in fee simple without any manner of condition use trust power of revocation limitation of use or uses or any or her restraint sense matter or thing whatsoever to allow change changes abridge defeat encumber revoke or make and the same save and except all leases or agreements for Leases granted for any plot thereof by one or those through whom I claim title And that I the said Susan Rennie now here in my self good right full power and lawful and absolute authority to grant release and convey all and singular the said lands hereditaments and premises with the appurtenances to the use of the said Joseph Pope The Commissioner of Public lands his successors in office and assigns in manner aforesaid according to the true intent and meaning of these presents And also that the said hereditaments and premises hereby granted and released or intended so to be and every of them and every part thereof with the appurtenances to the same belonging shall and lawfully may from time to time and at all times hereafter remain continue and be to the use of the said Joseph Pope The Commissioner of Public Lands and his successors in office and assigns and shall and may accordingly to peacably and quietly held and enjoyed by the said Joseph Pope The Commissioner of Public Lands his successors in office and assigns without any lawful let suit trouble molestation or interruption whatsoever of form or by one the said Susan Rennie my heirs or assigns in my or her person or persons whomsoever lawfully or equitably claiming or to claim by from under or in trust for one or them And that freely clearly and absolutely saved defended kept harmless and indemnified by one the said Susan Rennie my heirs executors or administrators of from and against all former and other estates rights titlesliens charges and incumbrances whatsoever made done committed executed or suffered by me the said Susan Rennie or any person or persons whomsoever lawfully or equitably claiming or to claim by from or under or in trust for one or by or through my wilful means or default consent firmly or provisement<<???>> And further that I the said Susan Rennie my heirs and all and every person or persons whomsoever having or lawfully claiming or who shall or may have or lawfully claim any estate right title trust or in trust whatsoever at Law or in equity of in to or out of the said lands hereditaments and premises hereby granted and released or intended so to be or any of them or any part thereof by from or under or in trust for me shall and will from time to time and at all times hereinafter upon the request and as the case<<????>> and charges of the said Joseph Pope The Commissioner of Public lands or his successors in office and assigns make do perform acknowledge and execute or cause and presence<<?>> to be made done or performed acknowledged suffered and executed all and every such further and other lawful and reasonable act and acts thing and things devises conveyances and assurances in the law whatever for the further better more perfect and absolute settling conveying and assigning and assuming of all and singular the said lands hereditaments and premises hereby granted and released with their appurtenances to the use of the said Joseph Pope as such The Commissioner of Public Lands as aforesaid and his successor or successors in office and assigns as by the said Joseph Pope The Commissioner of Public Lands his successors in office and assigns or his or their or any of their Council learned in the law, shall be reasonably devised advised
