Indenture of George McAssey, (b. 17 June 1850, d. 1936, Head of Hillsborough).

This indenture made the twentieth day of July in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy six Between Phoebe Douglas and Mary Douglas late of the Head of Hillsborough River Lot or Township number thirty eight (38) in Kings county Parish of St Patrick but now residing at Mount Pleasant Bridge in Queens County in the Province of Prince Edward Island Spinsters of the one part and George McAssey of Head of Hillsborough River Lot or Township number (38) thirty eight in the County called Kings County in the said Province and Island Agriculturist of the other part Witnessth that for and in consideration of the sum of One hundred and sixty two 22/100 dollars of lawful money of Prince Edward island in hand (?) well and truly paid by the said George McAssey before the sealing and delivery of these .. All that tract piece or parcel of land situate lying and being on Lot or Township number thirty eight (38) in the County and Island aforesaid bounded as follows that is to say commencing at a stake placed at the east boundry line of land owned by Thomas Douglas running a distance of (8) chains til it meets David H Douglas west line thence south one hundred and four chains thence till it abuts on land owned by Patrick Hughes containing by estimation (80) acres a little more or less ...
