This Indenture made the Seventh day of August in the year of Our Lord one Thousand Eight hundred and Eighteen between the Right Honorable Thomas Earl of Selkirk by William Johnston of Charlotte Town in Prince Edward Island Esquire his attorney lawfully authorized by Virtue of a Power of Attorney for that purpose duly Executed of the one part and Alexander McLeod of Point Prim in the Parish of Saint John in Queens County. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of five Shillings of lawful money of the said Island to the said Thomas Earl of Selkirk in hand paid by the said Alexander McLeod upon or immediately before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged. He the said Thomas Earl of Selkirk Hath bargained and sold and by these presents doth bargain and sell unto the said Alexander McLeod his Executors, Administrators & Assigns. All that Tract Piece or Parcel of Land situate lying and being in (the Parish of) St Johns Parish aforesaid and bounded as follows Commencing at a square stake fixed at the South West angle of Donald Frasers Land and running from there West Sixty three Chains & fifty Links to D. McAulays line thence north along said line Sixteen Chains and Sixty five links thence East Sixty three Chains and fifty Links to the North West Corner of the said Donald Frasers line then due South to the place of beginning in making and including one hundred and five acres a little more or less being part or parcel of Lot or Township number Fifty Eight in Queens County in the Island of Prince Edward. Together with all Houses, out houses Offices, Gardens, orchards, yards, Barns, Stables, Woods, Underwoods, Ways, Waters, Watercourses, Profits, Commodities and appurtenances to the same belonging or in anywise appertaining To have and to hold the said Lands messuages, Hereditaments and Premises and all and Singular other the Premises unto the said Alexander McLeod his Executors Administrators and assigns from hence forth for and during and unto the full end and Term of one whole year from henceforth next Ending and fully to be compleat and ended yielding and paying therefor yearly and every year the rent or farm of a Pepper Corn (?) On the last day of the said Term if demanded to the Intent and purpose that by Virtue of these presents and by face of the Statute made for Transferring of uses into possession he the said Alexander McLeod may be in the full and actual possession of all and singular the said Premises hereby bargained and sold or intended to be with their appurtenances and thereby be Enabled to accept and ? a Grant and release of the reversion and Inheritance thereof to him his heirs and assigns forever. In Witness whereof the parties have hereunto set their hands and seals in manner aforesaid the day and year first above written to Wit the said Earl of Selkirk by William Johnston Esquire his attorney
