On the acknowledgment of of the GrantorThis indenture, made the thirty first day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty three, between the Honorable Thomas Heath Haviland, Colonial Secretary of Prince Edward Island of the one part, and Charles Saunderson of Lot or Township Number Forty in the said Island, Farmer, of the other part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of Eight Hundred and Fifty Pounds of lawful money of the said Island to the said Thomas Heath Haviland in hand well and truly paid by the said Charles Saunderson at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt of which sum of money being in full for the absolute purchase of the land herein ------ and promises hereinafter granted and released and of the fee simple and or inheritance thereof free from encumbrance he, the said Thomas Heath Haviland, doth hereby acknowledge and whereof and of and from the same and every part thereof doth acquit, release and forever discharge the said Charles Saunderson, his heirs, executors and administrators and every of them by these presents, he the said Thomas Heath Haviland hereby granted, bargained, sold, aliened, released and confirmed and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, release and confirm unto the said Charles Saunderson, his heirs and assigns, all that tract, parcel or ---- of land commencing at a stake fixed on the north shore of Saint Peters Bay in the line dividing lots or farms numbers one and two thence running north on the said line eighty four chains and forty links to the gulf shore thence following the said shore westwardly to the north point of the common easement of the boundary line dividing townships thirty nine and forty, thence running south thereon eight chains into Saint Peters Bay, thenceforth following the shore of said Bay southwardly and eastwardly to the place of commencement, making and including five hundred acres, be the same a little more or less, and is part and parcel of Lot or Township Number Forty (40) in the Parish of Saint Peters in Kings County in the said Island Prince Edward, together with all houses, outhouses, buildings, edifices, yards, gardens, fences, woods, under woods, water ways, water courses, profits and commodities --- advantages and appurtenances whatsoever to the said tract forever --- of land belonging or in any wise appertaining or therewith usually held with occupied ---- enjoyed, reputed taken or known as part, parcel and member thereof or of any part thereof and the diversion and reversion --- under and semandey --- offices and jointly thereof and of every part thereof and all the estate right with interest are and trust property claim and demand whatsoever both at law and in equity of him the said Thomas Heath Haviland of in to or out of the said land --- inks and --- every or any tract or parcel. Whereof to have and to hold all and singular the said lands. My --- --- only in premises hereby granted and released or --- and intended so to be with their and every of their appurtenances rights and --- unto the said Charles Saunderson, his heirs and assigns to the only proper use and behalf of the said Charles Saunderson, his heirs and assigns for ever. In witness whereof, the said parties to this presents have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year first above written.
