We are building an online bookstore in association with Amazon.com, the Internet's largest online bookstore. We will present titles on Prince Edward Island subjects, and genealogy, and history from P.E.I., England, Ireland, New England, and Scotland, as well as the Island.Non Genealogical books may be ordered as well. You may use the search engine on this page to locate books on topics not listed here.
The Register earns a small percentage on each book and tape sold, whether ordered from the listing below, or via the Amazon search engine from this page. It is an attempt to help the Register to recover costs, and to enable me to bring more resources directly to you through the site. I have tried to avoid any commercialism on the Register, but costs keep increasing as the Register grows, and are exceeding my personal budget for the page, and I feel that Amazon presents a quality service that will benefit both you, and the Register without detracting from the spirit of the page!
Please support the Bookstore, and at the same time help fund the Register, and fill your library with books you will treasure forever. Pleasant Reading!

Netting Your Ancestors : Genealogical Research on the Internet (Item#2931) - Cyndi Howells; Paperback |
A wonderful example of historical fiction. Author Robert James is the third great-grandson of William. A teacher for many years, he has now retired, and enjoys his genealogy and writing interests in Wasaga Beach, Ontario. The book was launched at Yorkshire 2000, August, 2000.
This is the story of a young orphan, James George, who came to live with a Sackville, N.B. family. Working side by side with William, he helped to build the farm, and became to be loved as a son. Disaster struck the family with the foul murder of William Fawcett, and as James kept the family together, the murderer is revealed and put to trial. It is a wonderful reflection of life on a farm in New Brunswick in the early 19th century. It is well researched and the historical events are true, only the dialog, and the interpretation of those facts are fiction. I must admit I found this book fascinating, and had difficulty setting it aside till it was completely read. It is a very interesting book that will appeal to all of us with an interest in genealogy and history.
