Note: The Wheatley River church was originally established by the Rev. Francis Metherall as a Bible Christian Church, and became a United Church upon the Church Union of 1925. It was moved to its present site from a location diagonally across it's cemetery in 1912, at which time the church was enlarged, and a steeple added. It is now part of the Hunter River Pastoral charge of the United Church.
