Last Will and Testament of William McKendrick (1818 - 1862)
By the Grace of God, I, William McKendrick of Cambell Town Lot 4, Prince County, P.E. Island, N.A., being of sound mind but diseased in body do make this my last will and testament, viz. I bequeath to my dearly beloved wife Marion McKendrick the sole management of my land and property situate in Lot 4, Prince County aforesaid, until my son Allan becomes of age and when my son Allan becomes of age, then the sole management of this land left by me in Lot 4 Prince County aforesaid goes to my son Allan to whom I bequeath the same, provided all my children be kept together on the said Farm until they be able to do for themselves. I bequeath to my daughter Barbara a cow, calf, and two sheep and the residue of my Stock and Property on the land left by me in Lot 4 Prince County aforesaid, I leave to the disposal of my dearly beloved wife Marion McKendrick at the time my son Allan becomes of age and I hereby bind my son Allan to support my dearly beloved wife Marion McKendrick on the said Farm situate in Lot 4 Prince County aforesaid during her widowhood and I hereby also bind and oblige my son Allan to work on the said Farm situate in Lot 4 Prince County aforesaid until he becomes of age otherwise I authorize and empower my Executors to cut him off and deprive him from enjoying the said Farm.
I hereby nominate and appoint Mr. Robert Hagen of Lot 5 and Charles McKendrick of Lot 4, both of Prince County aforesaid my Executors to carry out and fulfill this my last will and testament.
Made and signed this 31st day of August 1861 and one this my last will and testament
in the presence of in witness whereof I do set my hand and seal.

markThe will was proved before Comm. Woodman on the 25th August 1863 on the oath of John McDougall subscribing witness and on the 18th September 1863 probate was granted to Charles McKendrick one of the Executors power being reserved to grant same to the other executor when required.
