WILL OF WILLIAM E. MCEWEN
Dated 4 June 1872 proved 4 October 1872, Registry of Probate, 8:485
Know all men by these presents that I William E. McEwen farmer of St. Peters Bay Lot 41. Kings County, P. E. Island being weak in body and anticipating my death at an early day but being of sound disposing mind do make and ordain this as my last will and Testament for the disposal of my world goods viz as follows:
1st I give and bequeath to my elder son James Alonzo the sum of Twenty dollars.
2ndly I give and bequeath to my elder daughter Eliza Ann the sum of Forty Eight dollars.
3rdly I give and bequeath to my younger daughter Jane the sum of Thirty two dollars.
4thly I give and bequeath to my younger son William Wallace the remainder of my property to be placed under the management of my executors mentioned below who are to act as guardians of my son Wm Wallace seeing to his education and training for usefullness and having full control of his property till he is twenty one years of age at which time they are to pay over to him what may be left after the expenses of his education and care up till that time.
5thly I hereby appoint the Revd Henry Crawford James R. McEwen and John McLaine Esquire as executors of this my last and Testament In witness wherof I have hereunto set my hand and seal on this the fourth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy two.
