The Last Will and Testament of Patrick Cantwell
I, Patrick Cantwell, of Souris Line Road, Township Number forty-five, Kings County in Prince Edward Island (farmer) make this my last will and testament.
I give devise and bequeath to my beloved son, Dennis, the southern half of the farm on which I at present reside. Namely, twenty-eight and one-third acres of land bounded and described as follows. That is to say, on the East by Kelly's Road, on the South by land owned by Michael Campbell, on the West by the Souris Line Road, and on the North by the North half of my farm at present occupied by me.
I give devise and bequeath to my beloved wife, Catherine, all the Balance of my farm being the Northern half of the farm upon which I now live, bounded and described as follows. That is to say on the East by Kelly's Road, on the North by land owned by Peter Cantwell, on the West by Souris Line Road, and on the South by land given to my son, Dennis, (?) (?) twenty-eight and one third acres.
I also give and bequeath to my son, Dennis, one half of the stock at present on my farm, and the other half of said stock I give and bequeath to my beloved wife, Catherine.
I hereby appoint Alexander MacDonald of Souris Line Road (carpenter) and Hugh MacVarish Esq. Souris Line Road (farmer) to be executor of this my last will and testament.
In witness whereof, I have signed and sealed and published and declared this instrument as and for my last will and testament, at Souris, Kings County in Prince Edward Island this fourth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty three.

The within and foregoing will having been presented for Probate Hon. James R. MacLean one of the subscribing witnesses thereto made oath that he was present and did see the said testator sign his name thereto by making his mark and affix his seal and heard him publish and declare the same as and for his last will and testament that when testator so did he was of sound disposing mind and memory according to this deponent's best discerning that he subscribed his name as a witness thereto in the presence of the said testator and that Daniel I McEachern subscribed his name as a witness thereto at the same time.
