WILL OF JOHN MCEWEN

In the Name of God Amen.
I John McEwen of St. Peter's Lake in the County of Kings County in Prince Edward Island, being of sound mind memory and understanding do make publish and declare this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills. In the first place recommending my Soul to God who gave it , I direct that after my death my body receive a decent Christian burial at the descretion of my Executors and that immedialtely thereafter my Executors do pay and discharge all my funeral expenses and just debts out of my personal property. I will and bequeath unto my beloved Wife Jane McEwen and my son John Walter the Farm I now occupy consisting of one hundred and thirty acres in Fee simple in Lot thirty nine in Kings County in Prince Edward Island, with all the stock Farming impliments and household furniture theron and at my wife Jane McEwen's death all of the said farm stock, impliments and household furniture to be my son John Walter's. I also Will and bequeath unto my beloved wife Jane McEwen the sum of one thousand and sixty-two Dollars. I also will and bequeath unto my daughters Mrs. Carrie Pigot, Mrs. Alice Partridge and Almira McEwen the sum of Three hundred and fifty Dollars each. To my son H.D. McEwen I will and bequeath the sum of Four hundred Dollars to my son Benjamin McEwen I will and bequeath the sum of three hundred and fifty Dollars. To my son William Ross McEwen I will and bequeath the sum of one thousand Dollars. All the ballance (sic) of my property, after paying the aforesaid amounts, I will and bequeath to my beloved wife Jane McEwen.
And I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my sons H.D. McEwen, Benjamin McEwen and William Pigot Executors of this my last Will and Testament. In witness I the said John McEwen have set my hand and seal to this my last Will and Testament at St. Peters Lake in Kings County this the twenty-fifth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty nine.
