Will of James Jennings of Prince Edward Island

This is the last Will and Testament of James Ginnings (Jennings) of Portage Lot 36 Farmer.

In the Name of God amen. First after my lawful debts and funeral expenses are paid,

I bequeath to my beloved wife Margaret all of my stock and moveable property, also my farm of one hundred acres of land that is my old homestead farm situated in Portage Lot 36 during her natural lifetime and then the said farm to be divided between my sons James and William. My son James to get the west side of said farm and my son William the east side or half of said farm and the division of this land to be made by running a straight line through the middle of said farm.

I bequeath to my beloved son John the west side or half of my farm land situated in Portage Lot 36 commonly called The Portage Farm-joins Joseph Smith's farm that is on conditions he is not to sell or dispose of said land during my wife's natural lifetime.

I bequeath to my beloved son Francis the east side or half of my farm land situated in Portage Lot 36 commonly called The Portage Farm-joins James Fisk's farm that is on the conditions that he is not to sell or dispose of said land during my wife's natural lifetime.

I bequeath to my beloved daughter Mary, that is Mrs. John Moynah ( Moynagh), one hundred dollars to be paid within five years that is twenty dollars a year until said this amount of 100 dollars to be paid by my wife to Mrs. John Moynah.

I bequeath to my beloved daughter Rose Ellen that is Mrs. MacDonald the sum of fifty dollars to be paid by my wife in installment within seven years that is eight dollars for the first year and seven dollars a year for the next six succeeding years.

I bequeath to my beloved daughter Catherine the sum of fifty dollars to be paid by my wife in ten years by equal installments that is five dollars a year until paid. Also a home and living at my home stead as long as she shall remain single.

I bequeath to my beloved daughter Jane Ann the sum of fifty dollars to be paid by my wife in ten years by equal installments that is five dollars a year until paid. Also a home and a living at my home stead as long as she shall remain single.

I bequeath to my beloved son Peter two Dollars.

I do hereby order and provide that if my son James shall see fit to remain on the homestead with my wife for the term of two years and assist the domestic operation of said farm he shall then immediately after the expiration of the above mentioned two years get and possess for his own use and benefit the one half of my homestead farm mentioned in section first of this will together with whatever stock and implements my wife shall see fit to give him.

I hereby appoint Francis McNally and James Fitzpatrick both of Lot 35 executors in this behalf.
