Will of Henry Howat(t) of Prince Edward Island (-1874, Tryon)


LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF HENRY HOWATT

I Henry Howatt of Tryon, Farmer in Prince County, Prince Edward Island do make this my last will and Testament.

I give and bequeath to my beloved wife, Mary Ann the property in which I now reside being part of Lot or Township No. Twenty eight and comprising Twenty five acres of land with the buildings and appurtenances thereunto belonging for her sole use and benefit, so long as she shall live, one half then to be to her heirs or assigns, the other half or portion I give and bequeath to my daughter Louisa Homes her heirs and assigns, such shares dividing the proceeds, should my wife and daughter above mentioned by mutual agreement desire to divide the said property at any time during the lifetime of my aforesaid wife, nothing in this testament shall pre---s the same.

I give and bequeath to my before mentioned wife all the personal property of which I may die possessed.

I give and bequeath to Julia Howatt widow of my late grandson William Frederick Howatt, one half of the Town lot, or parcel of Land I now own situate at Victoria Crapaud, together with the house she at present occupies, to be held by her, in Trust, for her oldest son John, his heirs and assigns should the said John die without issue before he attains his majority, said bequest to be for his mother her heirs and her heirs and assigns.

I hereby appoint my two friends Neil McPhail and William B. Howatt as Executors to this my last will and testament.

In witness whereof I have hereto set my hand this twenty eighth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy four.

This will was proved on the 11th May 1874 on the oath of Neil McPhail, a subscribing witness and on the same day Probate was granted to the executors.
