My mother recalled to me this brief explanation of how her father and my grandfather Henri Napoleon Pineau came into possession of the old homestead at Bloomfield Corners. Grandfather's first wife was Delphine Peters which was Pitre. She was the daughter of Elizee Pitre and Edesse Gallant. Delphine had two sisters. They were Theresa and Dennys. As mentioned above, my mother gave me some documents among which was the handwritten will of Theresa. Theresa gave the farm (50 acres) legally on her death to my grandfather who had received it from her father on the condition that my grandfather, who had married Theresa's sister Delphine, would allow them to live at the old homestead until their dying day and that he would care for them. In those days, there was no social security, so this kind of a mutual agreement was beneficial to all.
