To the Honorable Charles Young L.L.D. Judge of Surrogate and Probate Court

The petition of Rachel Lannan of Mill Cove Lot in Township Number thirty-five in Queens County in the said Island widow of the late Francis Lannan late of Mill Cove a foresaid farmer deceased Interstate.

Humbly Sheweths

That Francis Lannon late of Millcove a foresaid departed this life Interstate on the fifteen day of April last past AD 1889 leaving him surving his widow petition one son [John] and one daughter [Mary Ellen] That the said Francis Lannan at the time of his death was possessed of personal property to the value of about five hundred dollars and real estate to the value of about fifteen hundred dollars.

That your petitioner is desires of obtaining Letters of Administration of the Estate and effects of said Francis Lannan

May it therefore please [?] to past to Petition Letters of the Estate and effect of the said Francis Lannan upon her providing the necessary security.
