The Last Will and Testament of Elizabeth Mutchland, (-1833, New London)

This is the last Will and Testament of me Elizabeth Murchland of the South West River New London Widow being of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, but weak in body. First I commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it and my body I commit to the Earth to be decently and frugally interred at the discretion of my children and as to all my worldly estate, being three pasture Lots of land in Prince Town Royalty, I give devise and bequeath the same as follows that is to say, I give devise and bequeath unto Andrew Woodside Senior of the South West River New London my son-in-law one of my Pasture Lots of Land aforesaid being described Four Hundred and Thirty five situate as aforesaid, unto Andrew Woodside Senior his Heirs and Assigns forever.
Also I give devise and bequeath unto my Son Joseph Murchland of Prince Town my two other Lots of land aforesaid being number four hundred and ninety-six and four hundred and ninety-eight, situate as aforesaid in Prince Town Royalty unto Joseph Murchland for and during the term of his natural life not to be sold or disposed of by him unto any person or persons out of the family of Andrew Woodside Senior aforesaid and from and immediately after his decease, I give devise and bequeath the said Lots of land to the Heirs and Assigns of Andrew Woodside aforesaid forever, in default of the aforesaid Joseph Murchland having Heirs of his body lawfully begotten, but if he shall have such Heirs then the aforesaid Lots of land shall go to them forever.
In witness whereof I the said Elizabeth Murchland have to this my last Will and Testament set and subscribed my hand and seal this twenty second day of May in the Year of Our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and thirty three.
