The Last Will and Testament of Donald Murchison 1743 - 21 March 1831

In the name of God Amen.
I Donald Murchison Sr. of Point Prim Parish of St John and Province of Prince Edward Island. Being in a weak state of bodily health but of unimpaired memory judgment and understanding and considering the
uncertainty of this transitory life do make and publish and declare this my last will and testament .
In the first place I commend my sole to almighty God and order my body to be interned in a decent christian like manner the expenses of my funeral to be paid out of my personal estate.
I order and bequeath to my son Alexander Murchison all my landed property consisting of one hundred acres more or less viz that the one hundred acres upon which I myself now live with all the buildings woods and improvements upon them to be held by him and by his heirs or assignes forever.
I order and bequeath to my beloved wife Anne Murchison all the stock upon the farm consisting of horses, cows, sheep, and to be disposed of as she shall see fit.
I order and appoint the sum of six pounds currency cash or value to be given to my grandson Donald Murchison Neil's son as a small token of my regard and also the sum of two pounds to my son Peter Murchison. These small bequests to be paid out of my personal property.
In consideration of my leaving the bulk of my property to my son Alexander I expect that he will prove to his mother a dutiful and affectionate son and maintain her in a comfortable decent like manner see in that it is both his duty and interest to do so.
I here by revoke and annull all former wills in wittness there as I have here unto set my hand and seal this twenty-eight day of August in the year of our lord one thousand eigth hundred and twenty-seven.
