The Last Will and Testament of Charles McLean (-1890, Dundas)

By the Grace of God Amen

I Charles McLean of Dundas Lot or Township Number Fifty-five Kings County in the Province of Prince Edward Island Farmer being of sound mind and judgement do make this my last Will and Testament as follows

1stI give and bequeath to my wife Jessie Louisa Two Hundred and Twenty dollars

2ndI give and bequeath to my Daughter Christy Two dollars

3rdI give and bequeath to my Daughter Mary Two dollars

4thI give and bequeath to my son Charles Two dollars

5thI give and bequeath to my Son Neil Two dollars

6th I give and bequeath to my Daughter Ruth Two dollars

7th I give and bequeath to my Son Donald Twenty five cents

8th I give and bequeath to my Son John Alexander Twenty five cents

9th I give and bequeath to my Daughter Flossy Two Cows and Three Sheep and to have them on the place as long as she remains on the place and to have the good of them all along.

10th I give and bequeath to my Daughter Catherine One Cow and Two Sheep and to have them on the place as long as she remains on the place and to have the good of them all along.

11th I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Louisa Two Dollars

12th I give and bequeath to my son James Lauchlin Sixty five acres of land that I reside on now and bounded on the West by Grand River – on the North land in the possession of John _______ McLean. On the East by Cumberland Hill Road and on the South by land in the possession of Donald McLean.

I also give and bequeath to him all the farming implements that will be on the place and all the stock namely horses, cows, sheep, pigs and hens clear of what I have give the other girls.

13th I appoint Samuel McDonald and William Hunter my executors.

This will was proved on the 11th July 1890,
on the oath of E. Hodgson McDonald
a subscribing witness before ____McDonald,
and was filed on the 25th July 1890,
