The Last Will & Testament of Catherine Cantwell

In the name of God, Amen. This 25^th day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand and ninety six, I, Catherine Cantwell, of Souris Line Road, Lot 45, being through the blessing of God am in sound state of mind and memory, but calling to mind the frail tenure of life and that it is appointed to all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last will and testament that is to say principally and first of all, I recommend my soul unto the hand of Almighty God who gave it to me and the disposal of my body I leave to the entire discretion of my friends.

With respect to my worldly estate, I give bequeath and dispose of it in the manner and proportions here following. I give and bequeath to my dearly beloved grandson, Patrick Samuel Cantwell, son of Duncan Cantwell, twenty five acres of land with buildings there on being the northern half of the farm of my late husband and willed to me. Also the stock, 1 mare, 6 hed of hed horn cattle, 10 sheep, 3 pigs. To his airs (sp. "heirs") @ assigns forever.

I here name John Cantwell of Souris West whome I make my sole executor of this my last will and testament. In witness thereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal.

Codicil to the Will of Catherine Cantwell bearing date of 1896

July 19^th 1901

I, Catherine Cantwell, named in the will bearing date the 25^th day of October in the year of our Lord 1896 (1901 crossed out) made by me and bequestin to my beloved grandson, Patrick Samuel Cantwell, son of Duncan Cantwell, the real and personal effects of my estate and now being as John Cantwell, the executor named in said will been dead, I now here by appoint as my executor Thomas J. Cantwell of East Boston, Mass. instead of the said John Cantwell deceased he the said Thomas J. Cantwell to be the sole executor. I do this of my own free act and will.
