Letters of Administration in the Estate of Thomas Rogerson (1841-1892, Shamrock)

Petition for Letters of Administration, Oath, & Inventory re Estate of Thomas Rogerson, late of Shamrock, Lot 67, P.E.I.

b. ca. October 1841 Scotland? or at sea? - d. poss. August 17, 1892

Filed May 10, 1907 - Administration granted Same Day

Note:

Thomas Rogerson, Blacksmith, formerly of Bonshaw, Lot 30, PEI is my great-grandfather. His daughter, Drucilla Rogerson MacPhee, is my grandmother. Drucilla's son, Arthur G. MacPhee is my father.

My grandmother, Drucilla (b. 1869), was one of 3 children of Thomas Rogerson and his first wife, Margaret Shaw. She was 10 years old (or less) when her mother died, sometime before 1879, the year Thomas married his second wife. The other children were Isabella Rogerson Matheson, (age 14, or less) and James Rogerson (age 7 or less). The children from the 1st marriage were not taken in by the father and his 2nd wife.

Thomas Rogerson's 2nd wife was Christina (aka Catherine....nee MacDonald) Rogerson Arnett. The 2nd marriage produced 4 more children.

While I do not know the dates of death for Isabella and James, my grandmother Drucilla did not die until February 8, 1953. She was certainly alive in 1907 when the following 'legal documents' erroneously, and deliberately, indicated that the only surviving children of Thomas Rogerson were the 4 named below, i.e. the children of Thomas Rogerson's 2nd marriage to Christina MacDonald Rogerson Arnett........namely John William, Laura, Jemima, and Margaret Bell.
