The Last Will and Testament of Thomas Murphy (-1875, Lot 18)

In the name of God Amen The Eighth day of April in the year of Lord One thousand eight hundred and seventy five. I Thomas Murphy of Fermoy Township number eighteen / 18 / Province of Prince Edward Island and Dominion of Canada being through the blessing of God in a sound state of mind and memory do make and ordain this my last will and Testament.

With respect to my worldly estate I give bequeath and dispose of it in the manner and proportions here following.

First there are two Notes of Hand signed by Daniel (?) ( illegible ) Murphy and Martin Murphy and drawn in my favor for the sum of Forty one pounds each (old currency) of which I give and bequeath sixteen dollars for the celebration of masses five dollars to my daughter Mrs. Cahill two dollars to Rev (initial illeg) OBrien and the balance after the expenses attending my sickness and burial I bequeath to my daughter Mary Ann.

I appoint John Burke and John Forristal my Executors of this my last will and Testament .

And I do hereby utterly disallow revoke and dis ( illegible ) all and every other former Testament wills legacies and bequest and Executors by me in any way before named willed and bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and no other, to be my last will and Testament

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this day and year above written.

Signed published pronounced and declared by the said Thomas Murphy as his last Will and Testament in the presence of us the subscribers}
