In the Name of God Amen the fifth day of January in the year of Our Lord , One thousand Eight hundred and thirty seven I Niel [sic] Ramsay, Farmer, Shipyard, Parish Saint Davids Prince County Prince Edward Island being sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God for the same and calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament that is to say, principally and first of all I gave and recommend my Soul into the hands of God that gave all and for my body I recommend it to the earth to be buried in a Christian like manner at the discretion of my executors nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching such worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I gave devise and dispose of the same in manner and form following, that is to say, In the first place I gave and bequeath to Mary my dearly beloved Wife, all and singular my lands, Chattels, messuages, tenements and moveables as well as things immoveables by her freely to be possessed and enjoyed during her life or as long as she remains in a state of widowhood, but if it so happens that she will change her life by becoming another man’s Wife -- All and the whole of this my foresaid property is to become my dearly beloved Daughter Margarets by her freely to to [sic] be possessed and enjoyed as hers and no other during her life and her heirs if any otherways than to become my lawful heirs revoking and disannulling any other wills or testaments by me heretofore made ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament in the presence of us the Subscribers the day and year above written
