First Generation
1.Hon. William TOWNSHEND was born abt. 1745 to late 1750s in UK.(still no primary scources for date of birth). He died on 5 Dec 1816 in Plymouth,England. He was buried on 10 Dec 1816 in East Stonehouse, Plymouth,England.
Notes for William Townshend.......We have no primary sources for William�s birth or his parentage as of April 2006. We believe his father may have been a Richard Townshend or that this Richard was connected to him in some way as we have found a portrait of a Richard in 1740s costume and a young man. We are still searching for William�s date of birth and parentage.
There has also been found in the Bishop Transcripts for Plymouth a burial of a William Townshend for 10th Dec 1816, East Stonehouse, Plymouth, England. We haven�t been able to prove if this is our William or not as the original records have been destroyed as well as the church and graveyard. There was a Debrisay family at the Naval Yards and residing in this area during the time of Wm.�s death and they had a family connection to William�s wife Flora.
