The Descendants of Thomas Stordy
First Generation
1. Thomas Stordy was born in 1806 in England. He died 28 Jan 1854 in Crapaud, PEI. He was buried in 1854 in People's Cemetery, Crapaud, PEI.
According to Waldron Leard, a sister came out with Thomas from England. This marriage was by license and performed by the rector of Charlotte Parish. Witnesses to marriage were: John O. Nantes and Henry Jenkins. Thomas emigrated from Northern England @ 18 years of age. He was employed in
North Tryon at Gouldrup's Mill, then owned by John Lord. Thomas bought a mill near Crapaud on the
Upper Westmoreland River in 1833 from Mr.Platts. This became known as Stordy's Mill.
Thomas married Jane Wood, daughter of Joseph Wood and Isabella Leard 13 Sep 1832 in St.John the Evangelist Church, Crapaud, PEI. Jane was born in 1804 in Tryon, PEI. She died 11 Dec 1879 in Crapaud, PEI. She was buried Dec 1879 in People's Cemetery, Crapaud, PEI.
