Please contact - Dave Hunter - [email protected], for lookups in this book. Lookups will be processed in the order received, please be patient, as I still will have to do the day to day maintenance on the Register. Unless otherwise requested, lookup results will be sent as Microsoft Word attachments attached to an email. Lookups can also be pasted into the text of an email (though they will lose all their formatting), or as RTF files, and many other formats if absolutely necessary. For those living on, or visiting P.E.I., copies of this book are at the Archives, and at the Confederation Centre Library for viewing.A complete lookup index has been produced by Dave Dystant, of Old Park, MI., and he has given me permission to pass it along here. It was done originally in Microsoft Word 97 (MS Word 8), and has been converted to MS Word 6.0 to increase its compatibility with other programs, and is presented here in downloadable .zip format. When unzipped and printed out, it will provide a name listing about 110 pages long. This listing, unlike the book's index below, gives every name mentioned in the book, and the page the name is mentioned. It also includes a list of references to passenger ships people arrived upon - these are not passenger lists, merely references to people said to have arrived on mentioned ships.

Note: Oct. 06, 1998. I have received the sad news just this morning, that Dave Dystant, author of the index above passed away of a heart attack a few days ago. He had been looking forward to a trip to England and Scotland to research his family connections. Debbie Dixon spoke with his widow, and she told her that "Dave had his heart attack on the plane going over to England. He was hospitalized for a week and then released but told to stay in the area for observation for one week. On Saturday he awoke with chest pains, was at the hospital at 8:15am and died at 11:30am., in England." On behalf of The Island Register, and of our users, I wish to pass along our condolences to his family. He will never know how much help his index has been to others - we all owe him a great debt of gratitude.Appearing in the Detroit News, Tuesday, October 6, 1998:
