By now you should be aware that the data on Johan Heinrich & Johan Herman Henkell & Anna Elizabeth Otto and possibly the DOB for Nicholas Henkell/Jenkins may not belong to the Nicholas Henkell Jenkins who settled on PEI. The same is true for his siblings, wives and his purported son John and daughter Susannah (by his 1st wife) born in Hanover, Germany, info readily available and widely circulated on the internet.
It has been dicovered that a different Nicholas Henkell, a regimental drummer during the American Revolutionary War, returned to Germany about the same time that 'our' Nicholas Henkell (aka Jenkins) arrived in PEI. Children of both were given some same names. The early info published in THE ISLAND REFUGEE, researched by Douglas' cousin, Beryl, was done in good faith. More recent researchers have learned about the other Nicholas and his family in Germany and have reason to believe that there is intertwined data. A committee, lead by Douglas MacDonald, is re-investigating/searching and trying to determine what info is pertinent for the Nicholas Henkell Jenkins who settled in PEI.

Widow, Elizabeth Baum & son Peter Baum/Ballem: Per questionaire completed by William Jenkins in 1876: He was born in PEI in 1783 at the home of Thomas Beers, Lot 50, PEI. [His very pregnant mother] arrived in "1783, in the "Polly" from the United States of America". Mary Jenkins died on the journey. The island was a "wilderness..." - from Carol Anne Shiels
