The Descendants of William McLaren Sr. and Janet [Jane] McKenzie
When the Falmouth arrived at St. Peters Bay in 1770 there was a Duncan McLaren and his wife and family aboard. It is generally agreed that they came from the Perthshire area of Scotland. There is no proof yet, but we believe that they disembarked in the St. Peters Bay area, that they were the parents of William McLaren Sr. and that they had another son named David. Nothing else is known at present about Duncan and his family.
First Generation
1. William McLaren Sr. was born in 1784 in Cable Head West. PEI. He died on 25 Dec 1865 in Cable Head West.
William married Janet "Jane" McKenzie, daughter of John McKenzie and Margaret MacKinnon. Janet was born in Dec 1789 in Cable Head West and was christened on 13 Oct 1790. She died on 16 Jun 1861 in Cable Head West.
They had the following children:
