1. ENEAS¹ MCCABE was born 1800 in Parish of Rosslay, County Fermanagh Ireland, and died August 08, 1882 in Iona, Prince Edward Island Canada.

Notes for ENEAS MCCABE:

Eneas McCabe, along with his son James, daughters, Margaret and Bridget, and possible another son emigrated from the Parish of Rosslay, Fermanagh Ireland on the Lady Constable in 1847. They settled in Iona, Prince Edward Island Canada. Many of the McCabes lives in Iona today. A typhus epidemic spread throughout the ship and many lives were lost. It was miraculous that the McCabe family survived the trip.

Aeneas McCabe's Last Will and Testament:

I Aeneas McCabe, wishing to dispose of my goods property etc. do ordain as follows:

1. That fifteen dollars shall be given to the Parish priest to celebrate thirty low Masses for the repose of my soul.

2. That after the expenses incurred during my last illness and funeral expenses shall have been defrayed the balance of my money shall be equally divided between my son James and my daughters Margaret and Bridget.

3. That this present will and testament annuls any will and testament hitherto made or purporting to be mine.

This will was proved on the 26th October 1882, on the oath of Rev. William W Grant and -------- witness and on the 30th December 1882 letters of administration ---------

James was working for the electric company in Boston Mass. when he fell from the pole and was drowned. His father came to Boston and brought the body to PEI Canada.

Aletha was naturalized on July 2, 1935. She graduated from Sisters Hospital school of nursing 1937. Aletha died in Saint Mary's Hospital in Long Beach, California. She had once worked at Saint Mary's as a registered nurse. Her body was shipped back to Waterville Maine for burial.

James suffered multiple injuries including a crushed chest presumably caused by a steam railway accident. He was working in Boston as a freight trainman. He was living at 124 Armandine St. Boston Mass. He was 23 years old. His body was shipped back to Iona PEI Canada and he was burried with his grandparents, James McCabe and Ann Slavin

Marion died having her last child. Leo was a Race Horse Driver/Trainer. Leo never re-married: he raised the children by himself with the help of his father-in-law, John McCabe and sisters-in-laws. They live in Cherry Valley. Three infants died. One died with mother when she passed away.
