First Generation
1. Angus M' Kenzie, son of Unknown M' Kenzie, was born about 1757 in Scotland and died after 1841 [he was recorded in the census] in Scotchfort, Lot 36, PEI.
General Notes: Angus emigrated from Scotland on the Brig Alexander in 1772 with the Glenaladale settlers. Notes made on the 1841 census state that he was sponsored by Capt. John MacDonald.
Angus married Helena MacDonald. Helena was born about 1771 and died on November 10, 1869 in Scotchfort, Lot 36, PEI.

Isabelle was born about 1811 in Tracadie, Lot 35, PEI, died on May 8, 1892 in Tracadie, Lot 35, PEI, and was buried on May 9, 1892 in St. Joachim's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Vernon River, PEI.

General Notes: Angus John, or "Angie" as he was more commonly known growing up went, to
California to become a Christian Brother. There he took the name "Brother Virgilius".

Angus married Anne MacDonald about 1839. Anne was born about 1817 in PEI and died before 1901.

5. Angus MacKenzie was born on September 15, 1837 in PEI, died on December 30, 1924 in Millview, Lot 49, PEI, and was buried on January 1, 1925 in St. Joachim's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Vernon River, PEI.
General Notes: "My mother told me some interesting happenings in the MacKenzie family. Their mother, Mary Ann, at 37 developed pneumonia in May 1892 (?) and died. When her husband told his Mother who lived with them that his wife had died, she suffered a heart attack and died. A double funeral was held and they were both buried at Vernon River. Mary Ann's mother, Isabella MacDonald from Glenfinnan, took the baby, Joseph Aeneas, then one and a half years old to Glenfinnan. My mother, who was seven years old when her mother died, said she always remembered the sadness of her Father on the day his Mother-in-Law took his baby Joseph away -- he had lost his wife, Mother, and baby in three days. Aunt Ellie was 12 and she brought up the other three children and stayed with her father until he died in 1924." [from the recollections of Mary O'Brien (nee MacDonald)]

Mary was born in 1855 in Glenfinnan, Lot 35, PEI, died on May 6, 1892 in Millview, Lot 49, PEI, and was buried in St. Joachim's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Vernon River, PEI.

Charles married Mary Alberta Hynes, daughter of Alfred Hynes and Margaret Collins, in June 1925. Mary was born on February 9, 1901, died on January 10, 1996, and was buried in St. Joachim's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Vernon River, PEI.

Anna married Peter Daniel MacDonald, son of Angus MacDonald, 'Officer' and Catherine MacDonald, on September 3, 1907 in St. Joachims R.C. Church, Lot 49, Vernon River, PEI. Peter was born on September 14, 1878 in Little Pond, Lot 56, PEI, was baptized on September 14, 1878 in St. Charles R.C. Church, by Rev. D.F. McDonald, and died in 1939 in Ottawa, ON.
26 M vi. John Daniel MacKenzie was born on April 19, 1887 in PEI and died on June 28, 1959 in PEI.

Joseph married Olive Mildred Folkins, daughter of Horace Greely Folkins and Fannie Florence Marvin, on July 22, 1925 in Edmonton, AB. Olive was born on February 8, 1904 in Norton, Kings Co., NB, died on January 16, 1993 in Edmonton, AB, and was buried in Wainwright, AB.
