Letter:

Mr C D Strong

Sir

I am sorry that I have not been able to make full payment for my note before this, We have been building and moving to new premises, which has
cost me so much time and money that I have been obliged to give my correspondence to me go by for a short-time. I have however collected a
$100 bill which you will please place to my credit. The balance I cannot let you have before spring, as I must give some others a share of what is
going. I did wrong to take so much from you. But I thought that sales would have been better than they were. Books I find go off very slowly.

Mr Burris will call on you in the spring as soon as the navigation closes to settle the balance.

I am your obed. Servant

Geo. T. Haszard
