Descendants of Joseph Gardiner (thanks to Cindy Gardiner for additional information) Generation 1 1. Joseph Gardiner-1 was born about 1827 in Nova Scotia. He died in 1900 in Launching, Prince Edward Island. He was employed as a Fisherman in 1881.
Captain Joseph Gardiner arrived in P.E.I. with the ship Galaxy on November 4,1859 from Liverpool, Nova Scotia. He got iced in at the Long Wharf in Launching Place, Kings County, P.E.I. The crew from the ship went to Summerside and Joseph stayed in Launching, boarding with Sarah MacPherson and her brother Charlie.
Although Protestant Joseph was baptized in St Georges RC Church on April 7,1863 at the age of 30 years. Joseph and Sarah (1836-1880) moved to Summerside and had six children. Baptismal records for all six children were found at St Paul's RC Church in Summerside but no marriage license can be found. After Sarah's death Joseph and the children (?) moved back to Kings County to the Grand River and Launching areas. Joseph married widow Ann Banks Enman on 06-08-1881 and they lived in Bridgetown. Joseph died in 1900 and is buried in Dundas United Church Cemetery.
Sarah McPherson was born about 1836[1]. She died in 1880.

2. i. James Vincent Gardiner was born on 20 Jul 1864. He married Mary Sutherland on 27 Nov 1901 in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts, USA[2]. He died on 13 May 1915 in Watertown, Middlesex, Massachusetts, USA[3].
3. ii. Mary Louisa Gardiner was born on 22 Jul 1865. She married Allen J MacDonald on 12 Jun 1887 in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts, USA[4].
iii. Joseph Alexander Gardiner was born on 07 Sep 1867.
iv. Charles Aeneas Gardiner was born on 17 May 1870 in Nova Scotia. He died on 09 Feb 1892 in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts, USA[5, 6]. His cause of death was Accidental injuries from being run down by a sled.

5. vii. Alfred Gabriel Gardiner[8] was born on 12 Dec 1877 in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, Canada. He married Annie Blackett on 18 Jan 1900 in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts, USA. He died on 28 Aug 1918 in France.

He died on 13 May 1915 in Watertown, Middlesex, Massachusetts, USA[3].
