Peter Foley, according to tradition, was said to have immigrated to Nova Scotia with a sister. He thence removed to P. E. I., married and settled on Lot 11, Ellerslie. He never made contact with this sister again after his removal from Nova Scotia. The informant for the information provide on Peter Clayton Foley's Record of death (in Hingham) gives this Peter, the father, as being born in Nova Scotia, and the mother born P.E.I. Census of 1861, Springfield West, Peter Foley in Lot 7, a joiner, Methodist, origin not given, on the 5th year of a 999 year lease from R. B. Stewart. (he was in Lot 7 since 1857).
