Arrived in Prince Edward Island about 1805 or 1806. James and Mary first settled in Charlottetown, then later spent 10 years in New York, before returning to the Island in the 1820's. In 1833, their son, John bought a farm of 100 acres in the Belfast area. This land was purchased from Halifax Merchant, Nicholas Vas for 250 pounds sterling.
James married Mary SALMON on 4 Jul 1785 in at Northwood, Isle of Wight, Hampshire Co., England. Mary was born abt. 1762 or 1763 in Hampshire Co., England.
