The Family Bible of Roderick Gillis.

The following transcription was sent by Francis J. McCormack. Francis notes that Roderick was his great grandfather, and that he was the son of Angus Gillis, the son of John Gillis, the son of Donald Gillis and Flora McKinnon of Big Marsh. Donald was born on the Isle of Barra , Scotland in 1762.

Francis notes that he came into possession of the bible upon his father's death. It had been hidden away in the attic of a cousin in East Boston for some years. Francis says further, that some of the latest entries were in his handwriting, as he continued to keep the family records.
