LAND AND ROAD TAX 1910

Notice is hereby given that the Land Tax for the year 1910 imposed in the Land Assessment Act is at the rate of 20 cents on every $1000 of valuation, land and buildings included and will be due and payable on the 1st day of November next, and that every person liable to pay said tax is required to pay the same to the Collector of the District wherein such property is situate, or at the Provincial Treasury, Charlottetown, as hereinafter mentioned.

ROAD TAXES 1910.

Further notice is hereby given that under the provisions of the AThe Public Roads Act 1907," there will be due and payable for the year 1910, on the 1st day of November next, by each male person between the ages of twenty-one and sixty years (excepting Clergymen and Overseers) a tax of $1 per head; and upon all horses over three years of age, owned by or in possession of any person residing within this Province (excepting horses owned by Clergymen and Overseers) the sum of twenty-five cents each.

Taxes levied under the said Public Roads Act are payable and collected at the same time as the Land Tax and by the same persons and process.

Notice is also hereby given that the following persons have been appointed Collectors of Taxes for the year 1910 for the Townships and parts of townships (hereinafter called lots) in this Province set opposite their respective names. That said Collectors will receive taxes payable to them by the ratepayers in their several districts at the residences or offices respectively of such Collectors up to the 15th day of December next. That immediately after that date, the said Collectors are required to call upon the ratepayers who may not have paid their taxes, and if the ratepayers then fail to pay the said taxes, the Collectors are required to leave a notice either personally or with some adult member of his family, demanding payment of the same with fourteen days. After the expiration of the said fourteen days, the Provincial Treasurer is required to issue Executions for recovery of all taxes remaining unpaid.

Taxes may be paid at the Provincial Treasury, Charlottetown, up to the 30th day of November next, but not after that date, excepting by ratepayers in the Royalty of Charlottetown (for which no Collector is appointed) who may pay their taxes at the Provincial Treasury at any time previous to issuing of Executions or Warrants for the recovery of same.

A discount of five percent will be allowed on Land Tax paid on or before the 30th day of November next. No discount is allowed on Road Tax.
