We would like to introduce you to the wide variety of community Museums that P.E.I. has to offer. The following Museums are the members of the Community Museums Association of P.E.I. that we are currently aware of:
Prince County
- Museum: North Cape Interpretive Centre
- Location: North Cape, P.E.I.

- Open Season: End of May till Thanksgiving
- Description: The North Cape Interpretive Centre has displays relating to the history of the area, and aquariums of the region's fish. An exhibit describes the Atlantic Wind Test site, and dining is available on the upper floor at the Wind and Reef Restaurant.
- Museum: Dalton Centre
- Location: Tignish, P.E.I.

- Open Season:Mid June to September.
- Description: On School Street, in Tignish, Prince County, the Dalton Centre is located in a school built in 1930. The school was donated by Sir Charles Dalton, a pioneer in the Silver Fox industry on the Island. This museum specialises in the history of Tignish and District.
- Museum: Alberton Museum
- Location: Alberton, P.E.I.

- Description: Located in a national historic site, the former town courthouse and jail, the Alberton Museum houses the largest collection of genealogical information in Western Prince Edward Island, and one of the most comprehensive collections in the province. The Museum's collection includes: transcripts of church records (birth, death, marriage), compiled family genealogies, scrap books, photo collections, published genealogies, etc. This information deals primarily with families having connections to West Prince, including the principal communities of Alberton, Bloomfield, O'Leary, St. Louis/Miminegash and Tignish.
The Alberton Museum's Genealogy Centre is open daily between June and September from 10:00 am - 5:30pm on weekdays (including Saturday) and 1:00 pm - 5:00pm on Sundays. There is a $ 5.00 admission fee to make use of the Genealogy Centre.
During the off-season, basic genealogical inquiries will be addressed by Museum staff for a fee of $ 20.00 (in-depth research will entail additional charges).

- Museum: Bideford Parsonage Museum
- Location: 784 Bideford Road, Bideford, P.E.I.

- Open Season: Early June to Late Sept.
- Description: The Bideford Parsonage Museum opened in 2000. This Provincially Registered Historical Home was originally built in 1878 by Thomas H. Pope. Six years later he sold his home to the local Methodist church for use as its parsonage. Lucy Maud Montgomery resided here with the Reverend and Mrs. Estey while in her first teaching position in 1894-95.
- Museum: Prince Edward Island Potato Museum
- Location: O'Leary, P.E.I.

- Open Season: June 1 to Oct. 15.
- Description: The P.E.I. Potato Museum opened in 1993 to display the history, and equipment of the Prince Edward Island Potato industry. Also, on the site are a Community Museum, Heritage Chapel, and Little Red Schoolhouse.
- Museum: West Point Lighthouse Museum
- Location: West Point, P.E.I.

- Open Season: June 1 to Sep. 29.
- Description: Recent changes in navigation have brought about the de-commissioning of many of P.E.I.'s Lighthouses. Built in 1875, the West Point Lighouse is now the site of this Museum. Displays of artifacts pertaining to the history of seafaring and P.E.I. lighthouses may be seen, and overnight guest accommodation, and a restaurant and Craft shop are on the premises.
- Museum: Ellerslie Shellfish Museum
- Location: Bideford, P.E.I.

- Description: The Museum preserves the history of the shellfish of the area. Aquaria display the species of fish and shellfish of the area, and displays on the sight give the history of the industry.
- Museum: Green Park Shipbuilding Museum
- Location: Port Hill, P.E.I.

- Open Season: Mid-June till Labour Day
- Description: Ship Building was once one of P.E.I.'s major industries. This museum highlights the Island's Ship Building history. The Museum is housed in the historic Yeo house, once owned by one of P.E.I.'s formost ship building families. This museum is a member of the P.E.I. Museum and Heritage Foundation.
- Museum: Acadian Museum of Prince Edward Island
- Location: Miscouche, P.E.I.

- Description: The Acadian Museum's displays salute the history of P.E.I.'s Acadian people from 1720 to the Present. On site are Archives containing over 30,000 Acadian genealogical records. This museum is a part of the P.E.I. Museum and Heritage Foundation.
- Museum: International Fox Museum and Hall of Fame

- Description: This museum, located in the Holman Homestead displays the history of the fox fur industry, and of the men and women involved in the industry.
- Museum: Eptek National Exhibition Centre
- Location: Summerside, P.E.I.

- Description: The Eptek Centre presents a shedule of exhibits on the arts, history, science, and crafts. This museum is a part of the P.E.I. Museum and Heritage Foundation.
- Museum: L. M. Montgomery Lower Bedeque School
- Location: Lower Bedeque, P.E.I.
- Open Season: July 1 to Sept. 1
- Description: A recreation of the schoolhouse where P.E.I.'s beloved Lucy Maud Montgomery once taught in 1897.
- Museum: Veteran's Memorial Military Museum
- Location: Kensington, P.E.I.

- Description: This museum shows artifacts from the Boer War, WW. 1 and II, and the Korean War.
- Museum: Kier Memorial Museum
- Location: Malpeque Village, P.E.I.

- Description:This museum, located in the former Kier Memorial Presbyterian Church on route 20, displays artifacts pertaining to the life of Malpeque and surrounding district. Displays include memorabilia and furnishings from local homesteads, farms, and the fishing industry, and items related to the history of Princetown's history.
Queen's County
- Museum: Victoria Seaport Lighthouse Museum
- Location: Victoria, P.E.I.
- Open Season: July 1 to Sept 5
- Description: Another of P.E.I.'s wonderul decommissioned light houses. See the history of Victoria and its history as a seaport.
- Museum: Lucy Maud Montgomery Birthplace
- Location: New London, P.E.I.

- Description: The birthplace of P.E.I.'s beloved Lucy Maud Montgomery, author of Anne of Green Gables and related books. A large amount of memorabilia of her life is located on the site, and a bookstore where copies of her books may be purchased.
- Museum: Lucy Maud Montgomery Heritage Museum
- Location: Park Corner, P.E.I.

- Description: Located in Lucy Maud's beloved Park Corner, on the site of her Grandfather Sen. Montgomery's 1879 home. It contains memorabilia and artifacts from Lucy's life and times.
- Museum: Prince Edward Island Regimental Museum

- Description: Located in the Queen Charlotte Armories, and established in 1889, this museum displays artifacts and photos pertaining to the history of P.E.I.'s Militia, and a slide show of the P.E.I. Regiment
- Museum: Beaconsfield Historic House
- Location: Charlottetown, P.E.I.

- Description: Beaconsfield, built in 1877, the home of shipbuilder James Peake, Jr., now server as the home of the Prince Edward Island Museum and Heritage Foundation. It is beautifully restored and houses exhibits of the period and P.E.I.'s history. One the premises is the Foundation's bookstore, a wonderful source for P.E.I. genealogical and historical publications.
- Museum: Confederation Centre Art Gallery and Museum
- Location: Charlottetown, P.E.I.

- Description: The Confederation Centre houses the largest Art Galley in Eastern Canada. Special emphasis is placed on the work of Robert Critchlow Harris. Numerous exhibitions may be seen.
- Museum: Capital Commission
- Location: Charlottetown, P.E.I.

- Description: Visit Charlottetown's beautiful restored Great George Street and its many heritage buildings, and the nearby Confederation Landing, a park established in 1995. Visit Province House, where meetings leading to the Confederation of Canada were held in 1864.
- Museum: Point Prim Lighthouse
- Location: Point Prim, P.E.I.

- Open Season:July 6 to Aug. 29
- Description: P.E.I.'s oldest lighhouse designed by Isaac Smith and built in 1845, the only round brick lighthouse in Canada.
- Museum: Sir Andrew Macphail Homestead
- Location: Orwell, P.E.I.

- Open Season: June till Mid Sept.
- Description: Visit the Homestead of Sir Andrew Macphail, author, doctor, and Scholar. The homestead has been beautifully restored, with a licensed restaurant on the grounds. It is situated on 140 acres of land and includes nature trails, a tree nursery, and an ecological forestry project, and its programs include a number of lecture series during the summer months. - Museum: Orwell Corner Historical Village
- Location: Orwell, P.E.I.

- Open Season: May to Oct.
- Description: Located adjacent to the Macphail Homestead Grounds in Orwell, it is a restoration of the early community of Orwell, and includes many of its original structures. Various activities are held throughout the summer months. This museum is a part of the P.E.I. Museum and Heritage Foundation.
National Historic Sites
- Museum: Green Gable House
- Location: Cavendish, P.E.I.
- Open Season:May 3 to Nov. 1
- Description: The home of Lucy Maud Montgomery's elderly cousins, the house has been restored to portray the 1890's period of her Anne of Green Gables novels. An Interpretive Centre has recently been built on the grounds.
- Museum: Ardgowan
- Location: Charlottetown, P.E.I.
- Open Season: Year Round
- Description: The summer home of W. H. Pope, father of Confederation, the house has been restored by Parks Canada, and the house and gardens have been restored to the Victorian period.
- Museum: Province House
- Location: Charlottetown, P.E.I.
- Open Season: Year Round
- Description: The scene of the first meeting held in 1864, which led to the Confederation of Canada.
- Museum: Fort Amherst/Port-la-Joye
- Location: Fort Amherst, P.E.I.
- Open Season: Mid June till Labour Day
- Description: The site of Port La Joye, the first Acadian settlement on Prince Edward Island. Visitor Center open Daily.
King's County
- Museum: Garden of the Gulf Museum
- Location: Montague, P.E.I.

- Open Season: Last week of June till End of Sept.
- Description: Located alongside the Montague River - one of P.E.I.'s early sandstone structures. Exhibits of the history of the surrounding area may be seen, with a number of special programs throughout the summer.
- Museum: Elmira Railway Museum
- Location: Elmira, P.E.I.

- Description: Located at the end of the line, Elmira Station. The museum presents exhibits on P.E.I.'s railway history. This museum is a part of the P.E.I. Museum and Heritage Foundation.
- Museum: Basin Head Fisheries Museum
- Location: Basin Head, P.E.I.

- Description: Located near Souris, P.E.I., in Basin Head, the museum depicts the inshore fishery history of P.E.I. This museum is a part of the P.E.I. Museum and Heritage Foundation.
- Museum: East Point Lighthouse
- Location: East Point, P.E.I.

- Description: The East Point Lighthouse was built in 1864, and may be toured during the Summer months. The view from the lighthouse is splendid!
