First Generation
1. Alexander P. MACARTHUR. (Son of Hugh MacCarthur) He was born about 1765. He came to Prince Edward Island in 1770 aboard the "Annabella". Before 1788 when Alexander P. was 23, he first married Nancy McLACHLAN. They had the following children:
i. Kathleen. Born about 1820. On 6 Apr 1831 when Kathleen was 11 (???), she married John MACARTHUR who was born about 1818.

iii. John. Born about 1824.
About 1788 when Alexander P. was 23, his second marriage was to Catherine MACKAY, who was born about 1770. Catherine died in Prince Edward Island on 27 Dec 1807, when she was 37. They had the following children:

2. Elizabeth ("Betsy) MACARTHUR. Born about 1822 in Prince Edward Island. Elizabeth ("Betsy) died in Harcourt, Kent County, New Brunswick on 23 May 1897, when she was 75. On 31 Jul 1839 when Elizabeth ("Betsy) was 17, she married William BRYANT, son of William BRYANT & Maria COUGHLIN, in Richmond Anglican, Richmond, Lot 14, Prince Edward Island. William was born on 30 Sep 1819 in Cascumpec, Prince Edward Island.

On 2 Dec 1819 when Dougald was 29, he married Elizabeth RAMSAY, daughter of Malcolm RAMSAY & Ann M'NEILL, in Indian River, Prince Edward Island. She was born on 10 Aug 1788 in Indian River, Prince Edward Island. Elizabeth died in Lot 14, Prince Edward Island on 30 Apr 1868, when she was 79.
Her Granduncle & Father came to Prince Edward Island from Scotland in 1770 on the Annabella. Her Great uncle�s name was John Ramsay who came with 6 sons (Dondald, Archibald, Malcom, John, Neil & Angus) & 2 nephews (Malcom was her father & her uncle was Edward)

About 1826 when Alexander was 26, he married Christie Ann RAMSAY, daughter of John (The Yankee) RAMSAY & Catherine M'KAY, in Prince Edward Island. She was born in 1798. Christie Ann died on 22 Feb 1879, when she was 81. Her sister Nellie married Alexander's brother Hugh.

i. Anne Nellie. Born on 28 Aug 1827 in St. Eleanor's, Lot 17, Prince County, Prince Edward Island. Anne Nellie died in Birch Hill, Lot 14, Prince Edward Island on 27 Aug 1900, when she was 72. About 1848 when Anne Nellie was 20, she first married James "Jimmy" ELLIS, son of John ELLIS & Elizabeth CAMPBELL, in Alberton, Prince Edward Island. Born about 1824 in Tyne Valley, Prince Edward Island.
On 22 Apr 1852 when Anne Nellie was 24, her second marriage was to Robert Henry ELLIS, son of George ELLIS & Bridget MACARTHUR, in St. Eleanor's, Prince Edward Island. Born on 28 Apr 1828 in East Bideford, Lot 12, Prince County, Prince Edward Island. Robert Henry died on 10 Nov 1861, when he was 33.

About 1846 when John was 17, he first second married Catherine MOLLISON. She was born about 1825. Catherine died in 1860, when she was 35. John next married Agnes MILLER. She was born in 1827. Agnes died in 1885, when she was 58.
