Transcribed by Dave Hunter - [email protected] Each year, in its Legislative Journals, the Prince Edward Island published "Pauper's Reports". These reports detailed payments made in support of some of the more unfortunate Islanders, and can be a wonderful source for finding Island residents of the time. Reasons for the payments cover a wide range, from helping widows, the aged, and infirm, to assisting poor immigrants, assisting with handicapped children, etc.
Note: Information in square brackets added from the original resolutions for the grants from pgs. 100 to 102 to assist in identifying those named, and where differing information (spellings, etc.) appears on these pages.
